Standing Tall!

My dear friend Lupé Carranza introduced me to the culture of bragging.

As a process, bragging goes along with desires and gratitude - find 3 things that you are proud of, 3 that you desire, and 3 that you are thankful for. 

I love the whole process, and in our interactions, we use the brag quite often. It's giving yourself permission to celebrate your achievements. It's also a lovely way to interact - last week, she sent me a postcard saying: "I brag I have a friend like you." Isn't that too lovely?

So today I BRAG that I'm getting ready to present a workshop at this year's AVMA congress. That's the annual congress for the American Veterinary Medical Association. I am SO excited to have been chosen as a workshop presenter! The congress is going to be online this year, and my workshop will be one of only a few live workshops (as opposed to recorded lectures). 

I am grateful for the opportunity and I desire to meet lots of wonderful people online at this workshop!

 

Standing tall at your work

Standing tall is easy if you are satisfied with your performance at work (and your successes in life).

Standing tall doesn't just reflect your perception of yourself in a moment. It also isn't just a physical exercise.

Standing tall opens your chest and allows your breath to flow freely. Deep breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system, helping you to feel calm and relaxed. 

Standing tall stretches and balances your spine, allowing your weight to be evenly carried on your feet. When you stand tall, the weight of your body is balanced and doesn't need to be held in awkward positions of hunching and leaning. This "grounds" you and frees energy to move forward.

Standing tall opens your heart chakra, and your emotional state improves as a result. The heart chakra is the seat of love for the self and for others. With a healthily developed heart chakra, we can reach out to the world around us from a place of profound self-love and self-acceptance. 

Standing tall allows a wider perspective of the world around you. You don't look down or sideways, but ahead, and around. You are able to see more of what is happening, and this aids comprehension.
